HBR Ltd – Contaminated Soil BioPad Liner System
Client: HBR Ltd
Job Details: Supply & Installation of Contaminated Soil BioPad Liner System
Date: July 2015
Within a BioRemediation contract HBR Ltd were required to build two insitu BioPads for the treatment of contaminated soils.
Two BioPads measuring 40m wide x 120m long were required, complete with a suitable lining system to prevent any cross contamination once the contaminated soils were placed.
Due to a very tight work program HBR Ltd required a lining system which was not only cost effective and reliable but one which could be supplied and installed within a tight time frame.
Once approached we proposed the supply of our HBB SuperScrim H30 (0.76mm Reinforced LLDPE) liner supplied in job specific sized pre-welded panels along with our HBB 300 puncture resistant geotextile.
On receipt of drawings we scaled out the panel sizes required to optimise installation efficiency and to cut out material wastage. Based on the drawings 3 panels x 40m wide x 40m long were required per BioPad meaning only 2 x 40m welds per pad would need to be serviced on site.
To further increase installation time we proposed that our HBB 300 nonwoven geotextile would be stitched joined as opposed to hot air tacked.
On receipt of the order we fabricated 6 panels x 40m wide x 40m long of our SuperScrim H30 (0.76 Reinforced LLDPE) by means of our fully automated pre-welded panel fabrication unit and delivered these to site along with 525cm wide x 100m rolls of our HBB 300 nonwoven within 5 working days.
Onsite installation was serviced by a 5 man HBB crew. 9600m2 of liner and 9600m2 of puncture resistant nonwoven were installed within 3 working days across both Biopad cells. These 3 working days included on site inductions, H&S briefings, material placement and full installation.
