Flex MSE chosen for Penpont to Thornhill Active Travel Path

After consideration, our Flex MSE was chosen as part of an active travel path construction between Penpont and Thornhill in Dumfries & Galloway, a section of path required to be raised to meet a joining path section which runs through a forest area.

Working with the appointed main contractor JH Civil Engineering Ltd, we supplied just over 2000 filled Flex MSE units and began onsite installation works last week.

Our experienced four man installation team have made great progress, supported very well by JHCEL staff, and works will be concluded within the next day or so, then our hydroseeding team will visit site to hydroseed the walls with our specialist mulch media and a shade tolerant seed mix.

Flex MSE was seen as the perfect retaining wall solution for this job due to the systems ability to disappear into the surrounding forest environment ?, the small foundation footprint required which meant minimal disturbance of established trees, plants and vegetation, the systems ability to be used within areas of restricted access, speed of installation and the cost advantage.

On completion of hydroseeding, we will look forward to monitoring progress to see the walls disappear and return back to nature ??
